Got my costume workable for Akon. Ended up scaring a lot of people...mostly high school age girls. Despite the 20+ pictures that were taken, only one made it to the internet (no, I didn't have a camera to have a friend take a picture).
The distinct feeling of chasing your tail. I am waiting (and waiting and waiting) for a friend of mine to hurry up and do the sewing for my costume and its driving me nuts. I have five weeks to get my costume ready for its first field test at Aggiecon. This first field test will beat the first (and last) run of my last costume...Aggiecon is air conditioned. That and I learned my lesson, my claw shoes are lined in fabric so no painful blisters. I will have pictures up soon of the masks and headdress as well as the shoes.
It is amazing to me how well my bone costume is coming together...its almost too easy all things considered. I wonder if its I have gotten better since I last attempted such a thing or if its just I have the right tools at hand versus what I had in high school...who knows.
